The excitement and anticipation were rising Tuesday night as we finished packing our SUV in preparation for our 8:00 am departure to visit our family in Colorado Springs, when we heard the news…
the family members we were heading to visit with their three children, (5, 2 and 3 months) had to evacuate their home immediately!
As they were watching the news and followed the fire,
something changed in the newsroom and reporters began to fidget–
in their ears they were told of the change of the wind and shift of the fire.
They began to call for the evacuation of thousands in certain subdivisions.
My sister (in-law) walked outside to see the fires emerging over the ridge by their subdivision.
This was the view as they drove away:

I can not imagine the feeling of driving away from your home not knowing if it would still be standing tomorrow. I can not imagine the idea of loosing everything you own at once. However, I am confident that everything they truly needed was out of that house and on their way to safety:
their children were safe!
Furniture can be replaced, homes can be rebuilt, clothes, shampoo, food and all the cute little knick-knacks can be re-purchased. But nothing can ever replace a family member!
So this is my gift to my sister (in-law), a little token of my love.
Their “Circle of Love” can not be broken,
no fire will destroy what Lisa and Daniel established in 2005.
We added a golden inner circle, I wanted to make it special and
made this gold & silver layers just for her…

Please continue to pray for miracles in Colorado Springs!
The “Waldo Canyon Fire” in the Colorado Springs area started on June 23, 2012.
The news reports say it is only 5% contained (meaning 95% of it is raging and wild!).
The projected containment date is July 16th.

Praying. xoxo
We are praying so hard for everyone near and already affected by the fires right now. Have you considered selling a special piece in honor of those affected and donating some of the proceeds?
When I was in high school, my family & I lost our home in a fire. I will never forget the look on my mom’s face and the sinking feeling I felt when a fire man told us that if we didn’t have family who could help, they could put us in touch with the Red Cross who could help to provide a place for us to stay that night. You are right, the personal items lost were replaced and the most important thing was that we were safe.
I am thankful your family is safe and wish them (and everyone affected by the fires) well.
wow Denise! hugs to you!
I live outside of Denver and it’s hard to fathom what so many families are going through right now with the wildfires. The images on the news are devastating and the photo you shared captures that feeling of awe and dread that must be overwhelming when you are forced to leave your home in fear of fire. I pray that your family and many others are safe.
you are the BEST sister. Praying for them and others in Colorado Springs.
mama to 9. 12 and under.
Oh my goodness! I’m so glad they are safe. I cannot imagine that.
thanks so much!
Beautiful necklace. Sending best wishes to your family members and all others affected by the fire.
thank you Liz!
Prayers for them, and everyone affected by this historic fire.
I hope this two-toned necklace goes on sale…maybe as a fundraiser???
I have a friend who lives close to Colorado Springs; her husband is a firefighter battling the fire. Many prayers for all those fighting the fire and those that have been evacuated.
bless you and your family!
It’s at 30% today. When I looked out my window and saw no smoke in the sky…words can’t express the relief I felt. That might change later today with the wind but right now, it’s peaceful. I hope your family is back in their home, many people were let back into the neighborhoods Thursday and last night.
I’m on the other side of the city, way out of danger, but I’ve been stressed all week. I can’t imagine how those on the west side have felt.
i totally agree with you!http://www.casaemail.com.br
